All members of the community are always welcome
to come in and enjoy the Legion.

You do not have to be a member to come in to enjoy the activities.

A military background is not a requirement  although many

still believe that it is or it is necessary be a veteran to become a member!

We are open to everyone and appreciate new members at any time.

When you join the Legion, you support the many services we offer

to Veterans, serving military,

RCMP Members,  and their families.

2019 Poppy Campaign Notification

 "What's Going On"

I would like to introduce myself to Branch 551 membership:

My name is Drew Hawkyard and I am your Poppy Campaign Chairperson for 2019.  This is my first year on the executive and look forward to continuing on in a successful manner, as my predecessors.
Our 2019 Poppy Campaign will commence on Friday October 25th and end on November 11th.  In order to have a successful campaign, the assistance of volunteers with Poppy distribution (drivers to deliver Poppy donation boxes and pickups from local businesses throughout the duration, Poppy distributors at local approved businesses, etc…) is required.
Your donation of time is GREATLY appreciated by ALL who have served, their families and those who continue to serve our country in order to provide us as Canadians, the freedoms we so graciously enjoy on a daily basis.
If you are reading this and not presently a legion member and wish to participate in the Poppy Campaign, you can join by either visiting our Branch to pick up a form,  or by clicking on this link Membership  Form  or going online at www.legion.ca. Note: If you are a serving or retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and RCMP new to the Legion you are eligible for a FREE one-year membership.
Together as a community, we can continue to honour those who served and sacrificed their life, their families, those who served and those who are presently serving.
At this time reserved for remembrance, let us recall the words of John McCrae’s poem —  “... if ye break faith with us who die we shall not sleep,  though poppies grow in Flanders Fields.” — are as true  today as when they were first written.
KEEP THE FAITH!!!
Sincerely yours,
Drew Hawkyard
